Giraffe Centre

Overview

The Giraffe Centre, located in Nairobi, Kenya, is a dedicated conservation centre focused on the endangered Rothschild giraffe, one of the most vulnerable giraffe subspecies. Founded in 1979, the centre provides a sanctuary for these giraffes and works to protect and increase their population in the wild. It offers visitors the rare opportunity to interact with giraffes up close, feeding them and learning about the important conservation efforts being made.

The centre is set in a lush, wooded area, providing a peaceful and educational experience for visitors of all ages. The Giraffe Centre not only supports giraffe conservation but also provides educational programs on wildlife and environmental issues, making it a perfect destination for families, schools, and anyone passionate about wildlife protection.

Best Time To Visit

The Best Time to Visit the Giraffe Centre is during the dry season, from June to September. This period offers pleasant weather, making it ideal for outdoor activities like feeding the giraffes and exploring the grounds. The giraffes are more active during these months, as they come closer to the feeding area. November to March is also a good time to visit, as the weather is warm and the centre is less crowded than during peak tourist months. However, the wet season, from April to May, may bring more rain, which can make the trails muddy and reduce the visibility of wildlife. Top of Form
