Overview
Kibale Forest National Park, located in western Uganda, is one of the most biodiverse rainforests in Africa, covering an area of over 795 square kilometers. This park is famous for its rich variety of primate species, including the endangered chimpanzees, making it one of the best places in the world for chimpanzee trekking. The forest itself is lush and vibrant, offering visitors an immersive experience in a tropical rainforest filled with towering trees, diverse wildlife, and stunning landscapes.
The park is part of the larger Kibale ecosystem, which is home to over 13 different species of primates, including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons. Kibale is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 300 species recorded, including the rare African grey parrot.
