Overview
Samburu Game Reserve, located in northern Kenya along the Ewaso Nyiro River, offers a unique and captivating safari experience. The reserve is known for its stunning landscapes, with rugged hills, acacia trees, and riverine forests. Samburu is also famous for its rare and endemic wildlife, including the "Samburu Five" – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and the gerenuk, which are rarely seen in other parts of Africa.
The Ewaso Nyiro River is a lifeline to the park, attracting a diverse range of animals and bird species, especially during the dry season. Samburu’s remote and less crowded location makes it an ideal destination for travellers seeking an authentic and intimate safari experience. The Samburu people, an indigenous tribe of northern Kenya, also add a rich cultural element to the area.
