Nights spent per location
After breakfast, depart from Moshi (Springlands Hotel) for a 4-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch before setting off on a late afternoon game drive, the prime time to spot wildlife.
As you approach from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment rises in the distance, creating a stunning backdrop to the lake. In the groundwater forest, monkeys leap between branches, while elephants seek shade along the escarpment. Other commonly seen animals include zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos.
Overnight stay at Highview Hotel or similar (full board).
The 3 to 4-hour drive to Serengeti National Park passes through Olduvai Gorge, a famous archaeological site in the eastern Serengeti plains where early human fossils were discovered. This site’s dramatic landscape was shaped by the same tectonic forces that formed the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago.
Overnight stay at Serengeti Wild camp or similar (full board).
After breakfast, set out to explore the remote corners of Serengeti, immersing yourself in a half-day game drive. With a picnic lunch beside you, take your time discovering this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the largest concentration of plains game on earth.
Overnight stay at Serengeti Wild camp or similar (full board).
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to spot black rhinos and lion pride, including magnificent black-maned males. The crater also hosts colourful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other wildlife includes leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, antelope species, and small mammals.
Overnight stay at Highview Hotel (bed and breakfast).
Depart from Highview Hotel for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. During the dry season, this park becomes a wildlife hotspot, as migratory animals return to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Witness massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands, and oryx, which remain here until the rains arrive and they migrate to fresh grazing lands.
