At 8 am, the driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel in the city centre of Nairobi or Westlands and head to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Do make a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you'll have a breathtaking view of the valley floor. Here you will view Mount Longonot, an active volcano, as well as the two inactive volcanic mountains, Mount Suswa and Mount Margaret. The break will last for 10 min.
You'll reach the Masai Mara for lunch. Later, check in at the lodge for a short rest, then at 4 pm start a 2-hour game drive to view more animals in the park for the first time—dinner at the camp, where you will be treated to a buffet. Accommodation will be at Rhino Tourist Camp or a similar lodge.
After an early breakfast at 6:30 am, start the game drive and spend the whole day searching for the animals. It is a very productive day for viewing The Big Five, especially Big Cats.
You will also visit the great Mara River to view Nile crocodiles and families of hippopotamuses, where the great migration takes place. Lunch under a tree, watching the park, with rangers to guide your wildlife spotting.
The Masai Mara is considered home to one of the most dramatic spectacles in the world: the great migration of wildebeest and zebras from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of water and pasture, with predators, including lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures, following them.
Accommodation
