The experiences of a lifetime on The Pure Kenya Tour
Cherish Nairobi's mix of history, wildlife, and culture on this engaging tour.
You are collected from your Nairobi Hotel to embark on a cultural experience filled with history, conservation and craft.
Arrive at the Karen Blixen Museum, set on the quiet outskirts of Nairobi. This is the farmhouse where the author of ‘Out of Africa' lived between 1914 and 1931. Situated at the foot of the Ngong Hills, the house remains a testament to Karen Blixen's life in Kenya and is a must-see cultural landmark.
A visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see the baby elephants and rhinos being fed and to learn from a caretaker what it takes to rescue and rehabilitate them into the wild. There is also a chance of encountering a baby rhino being rehabilitated at the centre.
Enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee house (Tamambo Restaurant) in a peaceful setting, amidst lush green gardens, to break up the day before the next stop.
After lunch, enjoy a walk to see how Rothschild’s Giraffes are being helped at the centre. You get an opportunity to feed them by hand and also get up close and personal with them. It is a popular educational visit.
A visit to the Kazuri Beads and Pottery Centre, an African self-help project for the welfare of Kenyan women. This is a fascinating centre to watch ceramic jewellery being hand-made, and you can purchase unique souvenirs for yourself and your family at a good price.
Enjoy the drive back to your hotel after a culturally enriching day in Nairobi.
