Tsavo West National Park is one of the most beautiful and varied parks in Kenya, situated in the country’s southeast and is part of the Tsavo ecosystem. The park is characterised by its rugged landscape, volcanic hills, and lush springs, contrasting with the flat plains of other parks in the region.
Spanning some 9,000 square kilometres, Tsavo West is a mosaic of habitats including savannahs, volcanic features, riverine forests and acacia woodlands. The presence of iconic spots like the Mzima Springs, where water bubbles up from underground streams, further enhances the park’s ecological diversity.
Despite being inland, the park is affected by coastal weather patterns and is home to a rich diversity of species. The park itself is home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos, as well as various smaller mammals and reptiles.
The organised tours allow visitors to explore different environments and understand the park's geological formations.

While the wet season (March to May and November to December) does transform the park into a lush green paradise.

Tsavo West National Park has presence of unique species of wildlife. It features Eastern Black Rhinoceros, hippopotamous, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, and that of Lion. Smaller animals can be spotted in the parks like hartebeest, lesser kudu, and that of Masai giraffes.
