Nights spent per location
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver guide will greet you and give you a briefing about the trip. You will then start your scenic drive to Kibale National Park, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant and a visit to the beautiful crater lakes along the way.
The journey takes you through Fort Portal, a picturesque town in western Uganda, known for its rolling tea plantations, lush landscapes, and stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Mufumbiro volcanoes. This region is a gateway to adventure, offering access to Kibale Forest, Semuliki National Park, and cultural landmarks like Kabarole Main Mosque.
Arrive at your lodge in the evening, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.

Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Start your day with an exciting trek in Kibale Forest, one of the best places to see chimpanzees in the wild. The trek begins at Kanyanchu Visitor Center at 8:00 AM or 3:00 PM and lasts 2 to 3 hours.
Along the way, keep an eye out for other primates, including black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
Your expert guide will also help you spot rare birds and unique plant species found in the forest. Each trekking group consists of six people, ensuring a personal and immersive experience.
Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area located near Kibale National Park. This guided nature walk takes you through a lush wetland, sometimes along a boardwalk trail. The sanctuary is a haven for bird lovers, with 138 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco. It is also home to eight primate species, such as black-and-white colobus, red colobus, mangabeys, vervet monkeys, and L’Hoest monkeys. This experience offers a blend of wildlife, birdwatching, and cultural engagement, making it a perfect addition to your safari.

Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of Africa’s oldest and most biodiverse rainforests, located in southwestern Uganda. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, offering a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience.
The park’s stunning landscape features dense jungle, cascading waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, deep valleys, and steep ridges, creating a breathtaking backdrop for wildlife encounters. Besides gorilla trekking, the forest is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 340 bird species, along with colourful butterflies and scenic nature trails.
For an even more spectacular experience, take time to admire the nearby Virunga Volcanoes, three of which are still active, adding to the region’s dramatic beauty.

Begin your day early with a hearty breakfast to prepare for the gorilla trekking adventure. By 8:00 AM, arrive at the park headquarters for registration and a briefing from the rangers. The guided trek through the dense Bwindi Forest can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once you find the gorillas, spend one magical hour watching them in their natural habitat. Observe how they communicate, interact, and move through the forest, and marvel at the impressive Silverback, the dominant male of the group. It’s an incredible moment, knowing that you are among the last remaining 650 mountain gorillas in the world.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the forest. Learn how they hunted, gathered food, used medicinal plants, and lived in harmony with nature before they were relocated. Experience their traditional dances, songs, and crafts, and gain insight into their unique heritage and survival skills.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences.
