• Enter Travel Details – Select departure and destination stations, travel date, and train type (Express or Inter-county).


• Choose Class – First Class (Ksh 3,000) or Economy (Ksh 1,000).


• Provide Passenger Information – Enter names, ID/passport number, and contact details.


• Make Payment – Pay securely via M-PESA.


• Receive Confirmation – Get a booking confirmation message.


• Alternative Booking – Dial *639# on M-PESA and follow the prompts. Book early to secure your seat!

Refunds and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule your Madaraka Express ticket, follow these guidelines:

• Refunds-For individual travellers, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before departure; for groups, at least 72 hours prior. Visit the nearest Madaraka Express Passenger Service station with your original identification documents and a photocopy. A cancellation incurs a 30% fee of the ticket price. Refunds are processed via the original payment method.


• Rescheduling-Requests should be made at least 48 hours before departure for individuals and 72 hours for groups. Rescheduling is done at the nearest station, maintaining the same class, service, and passenger details as the original ticket. A 10% fee of the ticket price applies. Each ticket can be rescheduled only once and is non-refundable thereafter.
